Local Stuff

Well, it's now Thursday and here I am, trying to find some "Local Stuff" to write about.  I've been visiting the "Neighbors" web pages, where it seems that everyone has a "ring" doorbell.  You know the ones, that do more than just ring.  They actually provide a video of who's at your door and wow, we sure are a lot of weird-o's out there.  Some of them even bend over and peek through your glass door to see if there is actually someone at home.  Seems there are a lot of them from "True Green" and a lot of people just wanting them to stop coming by all the time.

Funny story - I'm writing this on the lanai and I just saw my neighbor walking around his house with a True Green Representative.  Then it wasn't 5 minutes later, the doorbell rings and guess what?  Yep, you guessed it, the same True Green Rep was at our front door.  (Later, I found out that he was also across the street.)  Guess he's just making his way up and down the street.  And somehow he insisted on coming back later  (but he never did!).

Maybe it's time to get a "ring" doorbell.  Then I'd know who was at the front door long before I got up and answered it (or didn't).  Wait, just a darn minute.  I have a camera mounted above my front door so I can see just who it is, already.  Maybe, I just need to turn the TV on.

Thankfully, our chances of getting more rain are increasing.  Most of the stations agree that  Friday, Saturday and Sunday should be up to around 40%, 40% and 30% respectfully.  Hey, that's better than 0%, now isn't it?

And let's not forget that the Corks and Forks is Friday night at the Bacall Recreation Center at 6:00 P.M.  But by the time you read this, it will be history.  Hope you showed up.  We always have a good time.  Good food and good friends.

Harold Ray Ragsdale (born January 24, 1939), known professionally as Ray Stevens`, is an American country and pop singer-songwriter and comedian, known for his Grammy-winning recordings "Everything Is Beautiful" and "Misty", as well as comedic hits such as "Gitarzan" and "The Streak". He has worked as a producer, music arranger, songwriter, television host, and solo artist; been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and the Christian Music Hall of Fame; and received gold albums for his music sales.

In 2019, he will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  And WOW!  According to my calculations, Ray Stevens just turned 80.
