Spaces for the flyers of this year's future C&F's (and Ladies Luncheons) have been added to give the host plenty of time to create and send a digital copy to the editor (editor@witherspoonpath.com).

Here are the neighbors without email addresses that I'm aware of.  Each month's host should make sure that they get a flyer (paper copy) stuck on their front doorknob.  Everyone else has access to the Chronicle.

1. 1306 Witherspoon Path - Tony and Linda Zula - No computer - No email address.  Put a flyer on their doorknob!!!
2. 1348 Witherspoon Path - Dave and Melda Pike - Out of town?  Rental?  Renters are welcome to the C&Fs.  Put a flyer on their doorknob!!!
3. 2259 McDuffie Court - Janet Reilly - Out of town? - no phone # - no email address.  Rental?  Renters are welcome to the C&Fs.  Put a flyer on their doorknob!!!
4. 1253 Witherspoon Path - Paul and Scharry Pullins - NEW Neighbors - May not have a phone or email yet.  Put a flyer on their doorknob!!!

And as always, if you're hosting the C&F, contact me and pick up the four tubs of supplies (plates, forks, glasses, napkins, other utensils, etc.) up to a week before your C&F.

All we ask is :

(1) First, you check to see what you have in the tubs versus what you may need,
(2) if you need to purchase more supplies and end up with some left over,
that you donate them to the correct tubs for a future host,
(3) return the tubs to The Editor within one or two days after your C&F so the next host can benefit from them.

Do NOT pass them to the next host.

Yakety Sax" is a pop novelty instrumental jointly composed by James Q. "Spider" Rich and Boots Randolph. Saxophonist Randolph popularized the selection in his 1963 recording, which reached number 35 on the rock charts. UK comedian Benny Hill later made it more widely known as the closing theme music of The Benny Hill Show. The piece is considered Randolph's signature song.

The selection includes pieces of assorted fiddle tunes and was originally composed by Rich for a performance at a venue called The Armory in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Two bars of "Entrance of the Gladiators" and "The Girl I Left Behind" are also worked into it.

Randolph's take on the piece was inspired by a sax solo in the Leiber and Stoller song "Yakety Yak", recorded in 1958 by the Coasters. The tunes are similar, and both feature the yakety sax sound. Randolph first recorded Yakety Sax that year for RCA Victor, but it did not become a hit till he re-recorded it for Monument Records in 1963; this version reached number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
